From what I've overheard, do cost cutting for term insurance since they must pay the cover after 3 years in any reasonable case.

It's mostly recommended to choose HDFC or ICICI for health since you'd want easier settlement. If you are a fighter, and like fighting against the system, then only choose whatever is best value for money.
