Someone finally called it out. Jesus the pride they take in these cohorts only to learn Figma and nothing else. There is no design sense and no design learning. It’s sold as a steeping stone into the industry but they don’t teach jack about design. Their mentors are 3 years into the industry, what the duck will they teach to the younger audience.
And they just take pride in brand and party and shit. No real design talent. So real design conversations. Half of them can’t even articulate designs decisions to their stakeholders.

They have the same portfolio. They have the same design language. They have the same BS you can smell a mile away.
Mentors are just glorified Twitter engagement farm to show how cool it is. 1000s of student and only a few get jobs. And it’s mental torture to speak to the new designers who come out. Have interviewed a few in the past and they all speak the same language. There is no original though. They are not taught to question design but just draw rectangles and make interactions.

Also none of them have real UX solving skills. None of them have any clue about how the real world works and nobody knows what UX is. Everyone will jump to Figma to solve a problem. I once told a designer that you need to think and Figma is just a tool. You can solve the same thing on pen and paper. And they just didn’t understand that concept at all.
Mentors just make money and have mass following where juniors look up to get a job based on connections. No real merit.
I would recommend someone reading this, watch free tutorials to learn Figma.
