2 cr FIRE money is not enough for bangalore if you choose never to return to a job /business setting. (even if you are single and no kids, you would have medical expenses from aging parents and your own in time)

Yup exactly 1-2cr is less in today's day and age. Atleast 3 or better like 5 6cr one should have at the age of 45-50

How bro ? Even if this guy does a SWP with @10% i.e.- 20 Lakhs, 1.5Lakhs/month is good enough to live I guess. People maintaining a good lifestyle don't have a mandate of earning 4-6 Lakhs/Month right ?

Doubt that, if u planning to retire in native that too with prerequisite like already have own house and this 2 crore managed wisely.. along with small and peaceful work just to cover basic need..I think can work..not sure why every one want to retire whereas the idea shld be to leave hustle life and do basic job, be with family and parents enjoy Freind’s .

2 cr is more than sufficient in pune but in BLR it is highly expensive city ,if you already decided to then why note native home town or tier 2/3 city, think wisely and take advise from certified financial planner ,but please don't ignore inflation.

Really doubt the Pune claim. Apart from rent I don’t see much difference between Pune & B’lore in cost of living. Maybe if you are on outskirts then just maybe. Again, it could be now but really doubt in future

If you have your own house I find banglore to be cheaper than pune. Fyi I have returned back to Bangalore from Pune after staying there for 4 years

Buy a good hybrid fund which gives 12% annually.do a swp of 1.5 lacks every month. After 10 years u will still have 2.8 crores corpus and would have withdrawn 1.8 crores.Repeat the process again if ur expense is cobtrolled. You will never have to work again

Bangalore is a desert. Once kaveri dries up or sewage starts, being dumped into kaveri, city will be done.

Hard disagree, bangalore is an urban slum.

Bangalore is a desert anyways. For any reason if trucks stops for a day or two. You will understand.

Nope not that great tbh! 2cr is bit less bro. You should think about 4-6cr which is decent for tier 1 cities as a corpus to retire!
1-2cr is not much i believe bro. Ik it's a lot but inflation rate is crazy that's why!

Depends on your family, kids etc

Overall 2 crore is way too low for retiring be it any city. Assuming retiring means no paid job post this.

SquishyDumpling

I'd suggest you move to a tier 2 city. Better quality of life with lower expense, if you choose the right city; depending on your preferences

Stay chill bro. Enjoy ur life. Don't ask opinion of others. Thousands of PPL have millions of opinions.
Just relax ur retirement time.
