Retention possibility with revised compensation

I am a C1 level SRE working for TCS and I have received an offer from Infosys with a 35% hike. Is there any chance of getting retained by TCS and having my CTC revised when I put down my papers?

It is also worth mentioning that I am due for a C2 promotion in the coming few months, but I have no idea when it will actually happen.

Has anyone here been retained in the last few quarters leveraging an offer from a different company? If so, what percentage did TCS revise your CTC by? Thanks in advance :)

TCS is turning toxic day by day, its your best chance to escape

Yes, I agree but I also regard TCS highly in terms of job security and opportunities across various technology and geographies. Thus having a tough time deciding 😕

Best possible solution I can imagine is - take the counter offer from TCS right now and wait for few months, then again start searching for new offers, in that way you will get hike on new salary and it would be much higher than what you are getting from new company. Also on paper its still not a switch and your resume will be strong

I mean for example you are earning say 5 lakhs, 35% hike is about 6.6, take counter from TCS for atleast 6 lakhs, new your new offer should be 6+36%=8.16 lakhs. You can thank me later 😂

First of all congratulations on securing a new job and second of all Leave and don't look back. It's going to be toxic from now on.

Also there will be no promotion, it's going to be on hold. Cost cutting would be the reason.

Yeah, I am particularly unhappy with the WFO policy but there are still some plus points about TCS which are difficult to ignore, such as job security, onsite opportunities and so on. Appreciate your input though :)
