
Retention or not - Suggestion
Hi all,
Need urgent suggestions! I resigned one month ago from TCS. My manager asked for my conditions for retention - I asked for the compensation match and promotion. They said they'll match the compensation but promotion can't happen this quarter. They'll initiate but will happen only in the next quarter, if any enterprise wise freeze is not there.
Can you suggest what I should do? I didn't get any interview calls even when I am serving notice period for the past one month.

First put your requirements in numbers. If they are matching compensation get it written. There is no value for verbal communication. Ask them how much time it will take to get promotion 3 months, 6 months or a year. Based on that decide. Also if you stay then next appraisal it's high chance that you will get C band. For interview calls, check your CV with ATS system. Put the keywords matching in job description.

They said that they'll initiate the promotion and generally the C1 to C2 promotions doesn't face any blocker. Not sure how much I can trust them.
Can you suggest some ATS score checking websites? I try online and every website gives any random number ranging from 40-80 for the same cv.

Can they initiate compensation increment without promotion?

Yes, if you match all the below criteria -
- you have an offer in hand and resign.
- you are one of the key resources and the project is dependent on you.
But it all depends on the manager.
