Retention money policy changed

I heard from my leaders that retention money is now credited on a monthly basis? Is this true any documents/policy released by HR.

No current year u will get it once you complete the cycle and from next year cycle it will split into monthly salary ..

I have got my retention in May but after that I heard it will split into month wise but I didn't get any additional amount till now
