Retention in tcs

I have 3.5 years of experience (C1 grade) and 8.4 LPA CTC including wings 1 incentive, I got an offer from accenture of total 14.5 LPA CTC and senior analyst role. I resigned. After 1 month got call from delivery partner about min expection from TCS, I told 11 LPA and ITA promtion, he told ITA promtion will happen after 6 month when i complete 4 YOE. He told he will recommend 11LpA CTc to hr for retenion. What should I do?

Getting promoted to ITA in TCS can be faster than you might think. It doesn't always require six months or four years of experience. Your manager plays a big role in deciding who gets promoted. They create a list every QUARTER, and if your name is on it, you will become ITA by end of that quater.

When you get promoted to ITA, you usually get a 15% salary increase. So, if your new salary is 11 lakhs, you should aim to negotiate for an additional promotion to ITA, which could bring it up to around 12.7 lakhs. But it's essential to get any agreements in writing.

I was able to get promoted to ITA after 3.5yrs(this august), so it's definitely possible.

If you're offer at Accenture is without relocation, it could be financially beneficial because you'd keep your current lifestyle but earn a higher salary/month (25k to 30k in-hand more than what tcs could give you at 12.7). Even with your new promised salary@tcs , it might take, 3 to 4 yrs to match what you could potentially earn at Accenture currently.

I got last 2 bands A and also completed wings 1. So asked my manager saying there is no more room for growth under C1.

Also think in my unit there were not lot of people trying for c2 this quarter, everybody is either having less that 2 yoe or greater than 6 yoe(already c2), that might also been a factor.

But first thing is you have to ask (Which lot of people don't do) your manager (1.informal communication: call him , 2. Formal communication: then send official mail stating your achievements)

In speed your previous manager can have visibilty wether you have the promotion initiation link available or not. If it is available you can flow the above mentioned .

This what my lead advised me. it worked for me.

Switch , but in Accenture as well , check for the variable amount , if it is higher , then renegotiate , because from what I’ve heard they most probably don’t give variable from past 2 years (correct me if I’m wrong) please check your offer letter and if the loss of variable does not affect you much , I’ll suggest you switch to Accenture because at the end Growth is the only constant :-)
