I’m planning to submit a fake resignation to negotiate a salary hike. Is there a chance that HR might ask me to commit to staying in the company for the next 1-2 years if they agree to the raise?

Also, is the hike based on the basic salary?

Would HR require me to provide an offer letter from another company as proof?

No to all 3 questions!! And there is a chance they will not even come to negotiation table. Most units don’t have retention budgets currently. All are trying to bring bench down

They are happily looking for candidates who submit resign, and mgmt strict instructions are 'no negotiations and let them go'. So better to get a genuine offers and leave

Is that your JL6 manager? Its a dummy messanger role, no real power not even to approve wfh exceptions independently. Dont get into this jugglary and find an actual job outside if you have it in you else stay put

Don't have hope. They are happy if you leave

Ask directly for hike. Don't take risk with fake resignation.

Max hike they can give 10-15% and that too depends on your ratings and manager. I don't think it's worth to do fake resignation for this much.
