Retention hike in TCS

I have withdrawn my resignation recently and was informed that the retention package will be reflected from April. In this case I am eligible for both appraisal and retention hike. Please share your thoughts on how this case works in TCS? Will I receive a retention compensation letter first and appraisal one later? Or there will be no appraisal hike.

Thanks.

Oh dear.... If it's not written and finalized, have very very low expectations...

Ever after written commitment, mine was delayed for a year and then instead of committed 40% they gave 30% , most of which went to retention Incentive which is yearly and variable which isn't paid full... My in hand remained almost same

I am worried now 😟 I just withdrawn my resignation based on manager's words and the trust I had with team. It was assured that it will be effective april

Well, I'll be honest .. you have all the reasons to be worried about. All your balls are in his hands and he may squeeze them or let it be. If they choose to give any hike, then HR will come up with random number, not what was promised and say, this is only offer we have for you, take it or leave it and your manager will make sure, he never comes in that call, else you'll confront him about the promise made.
So, my friend, I hope it doesn't come out to be true , but i had worse exp with written emails, I can't think what they'll do for verbal promises.

God bless u mate

No offence, but you are senior enough to understand difference between written and verbal communication. You should have asked for written confirmation before withdrawing resignation. Wish you the best!

I hope you get exactly what was promised, I was given 50% of what was promised, then I left TCS

Is retention hike applicable only when they negotiate your switch or is it applicable on voluntary basis too?

I guess it is applicable when we try to switch

Ensure you get everything in writing along with break-up, else HR's here behave utterly unprofessional

There was no HR involved in my retention process.. going based on manager's words.

There was no written email proof but was conveyed by manager that it will be around 25 to 35%.
