Retain in TCS

How to get retained in TCS, There is a project dependency and i am a critical resource but the life of the project is small(6-7 months) but very critical. Is there any chance that TCS will retain me? What is the procedure and How can I request them for salary hike to get retained?

Firstly consider how much time would it take to train an new person and replace you? Because you will be considered to be retained based on those factors. Lets say it will take months for a new employee to get to the same level as yours then will consider to retain, post that as mentioned by others either they will match to 90% of offers you have in hand or only 30%. Also do note, they will not start retain negotiations till last month of your notice period. So your first few months on notice period would be challenging and terrifying

Make hay while the sun shines.!! Get a good band and appraisal this cycle and you don have to worry much after the project cycles ends as well

You will need to have an offer from some other company, then resign, then at the end of your notice period, they will consider to retain you or not. If your project is 6-7 months long and you resign within this month, there are chances TCS will retain you. But mind you, they retain you at only 30% hike.
