Resume never gets shortlisted for PM, Is Product Management role worth it or should I look for something else?
I have been trying to break into the PM role for a while now, but I hold 8 yoe in app development with some team leading, I have a good grasp on the domain with great communication skills- can you advise on how to break into PM, applied from LinkedIn/Naukri - rejected from every PM/APM roles rejected in resume screening, so never get shortlisted, although I get selected for SDE roles bcoz of my experience in app development (8 yoe being a full stack developer). With technical and communication skills, I thought this would be a career transition, now am doubting if this is even for me. Or maybe I need to brush up on more skills(please suggest what can I learn more)

Try to figure out the base issue first,
A. Are you not getting calls coz your salary, No product experience, or negligible experience in product?
One major thing is for companies looking for PMs, they will prioritise someone who already has experience and is on a lower pay range, Also, they will want their current PM cohort (in their company) to be in a similar age group..
MNCs have a heavy bias for MBAs.
Position yourself as Technical PM/Platform PM/AI PM where your tech experience adds strength to your desired role,
Add a certification/project, PM job market is ruthless and without any of such requirements, it might be very hard to get calls

What kind of projects that I can onto my portfolio to show my exp? Bcoz I don't have exp on paper, but no one gives how am I suppose to start? I don't have an MBA, but I know quite good with people, dealing with people, have technical knowledge. Thing is I want a career progression, I don't want to box myself as just a SDE, but someone with more impact and add value to team since I am familiar with technalities. I don't think mine is a salary issue. If you were in my place at the start of breakthrough - what else would you learn.
