Hi all, I’m a developer with 4 years of experience, currently earning 5 LPA. I recently got a 20% hike including promotion (6LPA) (A5 to B1), but I know I’m still underpaid. Due to a 90-day notice period, it’s tough to get offers. I tested the market with a 30-day notice and received good responses and interview calls. I’ve built an emergency fund to sustain 6 months and have no EMIs or major commitments. I’m seriously considering resigning first to job-hunt more freely. However, I’m hesitant — I just got promoted and share a good rapport with my team lead. I'm unsure how to communicate this professionally without burning bridges. I’d really appreciate suggestions from anyone who has made a similar move or has advice on handling this transition wisely.

I’m also in a similar situation, but when I discussed it with my seniors, they advised me not to resign due to the current market conditions. Still, thank you for bringing this up.

Market condition is the same for the last 1 year. I've seen so many low skilled employees from my team resigned and got offers at the end of NP. It's either take this risk or stay at a comfort level. And there is no guarantee that the market will get better in the future so better we take this risk(calculative)

I guess you can easily get upto 18 LPA offer with current experience - kindly do not fear - you'll survive and will definitely crack a good company - "Kahi pochane ke liye kahi se nikalana zaruri hai" also you don't have any such dependency so you can definitely take the risk - as there is 101% reward out there in market.

Resign and starts to give interview bro... Dont worry, you will get atleast 3-4 offers during notice period...... Just keep giving interviews

It's totally depends on your skillset demand in the market and mindset to stay calm even without the job.. don't make decisions in hurry..

You can tell this to your lead . Hopefully, they will understand may be if CG can match the offer you can continue here as you have good rapport . All the best for the job search .

Yeah... Go ahead... i didn't see any risk here, for 6 months you have savings which support u. Resign and hunt.

If your rapport is good with your lead, it's ok to communicate with him/her regarding the same.
Even they know your worth and it's completely fine if you are looking for a good opportunity for yourself.

Go ahead you will find good offers more then 10lpa atleast
