Resignation without offer
TL;DR: Resign without offer in hand for 2+ yrs exp. while also targeting a different tech stack
Hi Grapeviners,
Happy Diwali!
Just wanted to know how much risky it is to resign without an offer in hand at this particular point of time considering the present job market and the whole economy in general?
I am actively targeting MERN stack roles but have been working in a non-MERN stack role for the past 2 years.
That said I have more proficiency in MERN stack than the tech that I have spent working on in the last 2 years at work🙂🙂🙂
I am actively building complex MERN projects to strengthen my resume as well as knowledge.
Leaving my current job is the only option I have as the work culture in my team is affecting my health. And there is also no bench policy so cannot push for internal transfers as my current company does not have many MERN stack projects.
Any suggestions/feedbacks/constructive criticism is welcome TIA

I’m exactly on the same boat.

I thought Accenture was better in terms of WLB😕😕😕 Ironically many folks have been jumping ship to Accenture from Persistent 🤣🤣🤣

I am a React Developer and resigned without any offer due to poor WLB and diagnosis of a medical condition. Currently on break for few months and will be applying for MERN stack positions. The market seems to be saturated with MERN developers when I check any job opening so I am extremely confused whether I should move to some other field.

I guess experts in any tech will always find a way irrespective of the demand Do you think career breaks negatively impacts the chances of getting hired?
Kind of in the same boat myself. I want to apply for MERN stack roles , I have experience but I don't have the "work" experience.
While filling out the applications what do you fill for the Years of Experience field for MERN stack OP? Do you mention 0 or do you put the number of years you've worked on it as a hobby?

I show my entire work experience as MERN experience
