Trending @Accenture; Resignation Withdrawal and Appraisal Concerns – Need Guidance on Next Steps

I had initially submitted my resignation after receiving a better opportunity. After that, my manager approached me with a retention conversation, offering a small immediate hike and an additional hike during the May appraisal cycle to match the competing offer. I agreed to stay based on that discussion. However, later he informed me that I was not eligible for any hike because: My performance discussion didn’t go well. I had resigned, which supposedly made me ineligible.

To clarify, I checked with HR, and they confirmed that an employee remains eligible for appraisals and discussions until their final exit date. Due to a personal medical issue, I decided to withdraw my resignation and sent an official email to my manager informing him. He got upset, questioning why I made it official without informing him first. He mentioned that since it’s now official, I won’t be considered for any appraisals. I responded calmly, saying I’m okay with that.

Later, he asked for the reason for my withdrawal over email, which I shared, but I haven’t received any response or confirmation from his side. I'm unsure about his current stance.

Plus any person serving notice period is automatically chosen as the prime candidate for poor appraisals..
The same happened to me, I was sold the same story as you regarding hike and all, but when it came to appraisals, I was told I wasn't even eligible for it..

Due to some personal reasons, I’ve had to stay back and revoke my withdrawal. However, I’m now facing unnecessary delays from his side — he’s not assisting me in any way, and the process is being prolonged without explanation. When I forwarded our withdrawal conversation over email for clarity and record-keeping, he became upset, questioning why I made it 'official.' I’m struggling to understand this kind of response or attitude. Either he has played some game during performance thats what i am thinking.

This is clearly your issue, you shouldn't have taken back the resignation. Employee is eligible for promotion but you should know better it's on your manager to do that. Now he won't eben consider you.
