Assuming you are allocated to a project, follow these steps:

  1. Discuss your resignation with your lead/supervisor. Inform them that you intend to submit your resignation.
  2. Send your resignation email. Include HR, your immediate supervisor as listed in Ultimarix, and your project leads. Use only your TCS email ID.
  3. Your supervisor will initiate the resignation process in the system.
  4. Once your supervisor initiates the resignation, you will receive a resignation acknowledgment email from HR within the next 3-4 days.
  5. Within 7-10 days, HR will contact you to discuss the reasons for your resignation and will ask for your personal email ID. If you confirm your resignation, they will proceed with the next steps.
  6. Within next 3-4 days, you will receive a resignation acceptance email at both your personal and TCS email addresses. Carefully check the last working day (LWD) or date of release mentioned.
  7. Once you receive the resignation acceptance, you can discuss reducing the notice period with your project managers or HR.

According to TCS HRs, if you are allocated to any Project, you will generally not be able to convince them to reduce the notice period except for the following reasons:

  1. Serious family medical issues.
  2. Higher studies.
  3. Joining a government job.

In my case, project has approved for early release. But my HR partner told me it further needs to be approved by HR head. By any chance will they turn it down even though the project approves?
