Trending @Capgemini; Resignation

Hey all, How are you ? Well I am not fine, I am devastated and have no idea what to do with my life now. As I can't see any way out of this mess where I am right now. I finally got an offer from a company where I have to join in 1 month but my current company is not allowing me to leave before serving the notice period of 90 days. Despite being on the bench for the last 5 months and still no hope for getting allocated with a project. Firstly, my manager told me that they'll give an early release if I find another opportunity somewhere. But now since I have got the job offer from a different company he denied it.

The HR of the company where I have to join after a month told me it's not possible to wait for 90 days and he'll revoke the offer if I am unable to join in a month.

😓 my life is a complete mess now. Don't know what to do. I am literally crying every hour, seeing my career getting ruined. It was my mistake joining such a company where employees are not at all valued.

It was difficult for me to find another job as I didn't have proper experience. I worked on a project for 8 months only and the project got ramped down.

Now I don't have any choice. I feel like I am trapped for life and there is no way out. Writing this post with watery eyes. Hoping to know if there is any solution to this trap.

Hey don't loose hope and congrats you received a job offer from another company in such tough situation. Try to speak with your manager and n+1 if possible politely ask them and put forward yours choices. If you are confident in your skill you can grab offer from another just try out. Try for updates from manager and check any other way if possible. There is lot we can do other than this and I do understand you're feeling just try out diferent possible way. There must be a way out, hope for the best and prepare for worst.

Thank you so much for the kind words, it really means a lot. But I already have prepared myself for the worst because I know there is no way out now. I will try one last time and if it doesn't work I'll resign whatever the outcome is. And will return to my hometown. These days are really tough and I need peace now. Also I feel why does God show us the way if he already knows that the path will not lead to a destination.

P.S. My n+1 was the first person who told me that I'll get an early release since I am on the bench. Now, when the time came he denied.

Hey, I was in the same situation as you, I'm also serving notice period now , only a month left , I also resigned with only 1 offer in hand that needed me to join within 2 months, but I upskilled myself in a month and tried reaching out to people for referrals and got more interviews. Please don't loose hope. Keep trying for more and more interviews. Make use for these 90 days very wisely.

Did the company who gave you the 60 days joining date agreed to wait one more month because im in the same situation. Will they agree if I ask to wait 1 more month?

Yes they agreed, but I told them later only about the early release not getting approved. And also I only revealed that to them after having another offer in hand who gave me joining after my notice period. So whatever you do, keep yourself in a secured position.

If you are on the bench and are resigning. There is no reason for stopping releasing. Because no project will assign you if you have resigned. Early release provides benefits on both sides. The company does not pay a three-month salary, and employees receive an increased salary.

Yes, exactly. That's what I told them but all they are saying is no, not possible.

Also if you can help me by asking your manager if any such policy is introduced in CG where Employees can neither buyout their notice period nor get an early release. I really need to know if this is real or they are just trying to buzz me off with this.

The same thing happened with my friend and they didn't provide an early release. Even his manager was ready to give early release but HR mentioned it is company policy to serve a 90 day notice period.

Very sorry for your situation, but don't lose hope. In CG you can buy out the notice period. I have seen people doing that, how they achieved not sure of that. One girl was released in just one month. She bought 2 months of notice. Collect details from every corner. I would suggest you to go through the policy thoroughly and challenge the company. It's about your career. For them it might be a joke but not for you. They cannot do much.
Get some information on how to threaten them by saying that you will file a lawsuit for not following the policy.

Your case seems to be ignorance of some management fokes.

I already asked about the buyout option the HR denied for it. I asked him that it was mentioned in the offer Letter that either I have to serve a notice period for 90 days or I can buyout my notice period. He replied to me saying this was the policy till dec 2023. From Jan 2024 it's mandatory to serve a 90 day notice period. Also I would request you just one thing, if you can ask from your manager if something like this has really been introduced to the policy. It'll be really helpful.

Did you resigned or not?

I have been trying to resign for the last 4 -5 days but it's not working, after filling up all the information, whenever I am clicking on the SUBMIT button it does not respond. I don't know what to do, I have talked to my manager and he said come to the office we will see, I am in my hometown I'll go tomorrow. Till yet if you suggest anything @FreeAirline6 @IntentBoot5 @_ragoon @Hunnygarg @Rockstellar @NightFuryy @TheseShoes5 @Sniperwolfff @LazyCoder31 @Sutlibomb

If you're unable to get early release but really need to leave and can't find another way out, you can always use a medical reason to get released early, and then nobody can stop you.

Whaaaat !!! Not even on medical grounds. What if someone really needs it. I just really don't understand why they are doing it ? Neither allotted a project nor they are relieving the employees. It really feels like my career has come to an end before even properly starting. This is the dead end now.

FluffyPickle

I can feel you… Im going through something similar they are not leaving at any cost man not on the medical grounds its not possible they are saying. The only concern is if this company is asking employees to follow the hybrid work policy then why they themselves are not following their own policy which states “employee can buy out the notice period by paying the total monthly amount to company” these things are horrible… stay strong yaar.
