I have stopped working for the project as I requested for release but they denied. So if I resign today, do I have to serve notice period kr they will give a immediate release as I already stopped working?

Your HCM will come to you and ask for a new project. If you want to get rid of the shit then you can take immediate release

If you resign then NP is 90 days , if you want release after your resignation then Manager needs to get D+ higher approval to release you. If he is not releasing you normally then i highly doubt that he will take extra effort to get D+ approval. Talk with HR and your Manager's manager. Drop mail to HR and Project Manager and cc Manager, his manager.
