Resign before/after signing new offer

Hello,

So this is the first time that I am leaving a job because I have an offer in hand.

The offer letter has a joining 2 months from now because my current notice period is 2 months.

I am worried that if I sign it now and then go resign, my current company might create issues and say that due to some delay or something, my last working day will be a bit later than exactly 2 months and I won't be able to join the new company on the agreed upon date.

But I also don't want to resign before I have signed the new offer, so that the new offer is confirmed.

Do you have any advice for me?

Sign the offer and then resign. In case 2-5 days here and there, the new company understands

Its simple. Eat, then repeat Sign, then resign

Never the other way round.

Let your HR know first that you will be leaving organisation and later you can point this out if something happens though it's rare something will happen. Also you can sign the offer there is nothing to loose unless you let your current org know about it.
