Resign and look for opportunities.

Hi, I have been working as an ABAP developer at an MNC for the past year. When I joined, I wasn't given a choice and was assigned to SAP ABAP. After working in this role for nearly a year, I don’t find it interesting or beneficial for long-term learning. While I can do the work without much difficulty, it lacks excitement and growth opportunities.

I requested a skill change, but it requires manager approval, which hasn’t been granted. Additionally, I don't see much future scope in ABAP. Coming from a Computer Science background, I want to work as a developer in a more dynamic tech stack. Most of the work in ABAP revolves around database tables and building various components within SAP—it feels more like working with a tool rather than working as a dev.

One of my friends had same stack went to Saudi Arabia Aramco, had offer with 35 base in India, 5 years exp, don't get overmotivated by backend development, it's a general term and although growth is there, one needs to grind a lot, to even get interview chance, SAP is more stable and large MNCs use it for payroll/inventory etc, so not getting outdated in near future

Ohh.. nice, But opportunities are also.less in SAP and especially for younger people with less work exp. , my current project is not good learning wise and probably will have to work a year more to ask for good one.
At the end I dont want ro be job less if company lays me off with not enough skills and experience.
