Request for Guidance on Shift Schedule and On-Site Opportunity

I have more than 12 years of experience, and I joined TCS in 2024 for a support project. I was promised an on-site opportunity, but it has not yet been provided and there have been repeated delays. Currently, I am assigned to night shifts, which is affecting my health, as well as my family and personal life. I kindly request your guidance on possible options to: Adjust my shift schedule, and Support the on-site opportunity as promised. I am eager to continue contributing effectively while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

I will be upfront with you about this. Do you have proof of promise for onsite ? Did you at any time agree with evidence for night shift ? If the former is no and latter is yes you are in a tough spot.

You will have to do a very hard conversation with your manager but be very prepared for fall out and clash backs. If they are toxic lot they will make you as a prime example why people in the project should stay in line cause these people have super fragile egoes. The goal would be doubling down making you work and break you mentally.

If they good they will try but then they are put in a situation they have to deal with toxic bosses.

But yeah either ways you have to keep a Plan B ready. If there is backlash or you get the info you aren't getting a shift change nor onsite, what then ? Had a colleague from old office in Blr who refused night shift they just pressured her to point of quitting and running away without NP

Plus onsite right now is a distant dream. Alot of folks have been promised the same and you are in a huge list. Alot of politics is at play to make it to the top of the list. So if you aren't sure of your managers then you can picture yourself at the bottom of the list. Unless you are super critical and clients specifically want you.

This post should help on the same: https://www.grapevine.in/post/TCS-Reality-Promotion-Bands-Onsite-and-Hike-928540ff-506c-4783-b34a-fe408d1b7fce
