Request for Guidance on Project Allocation and Career Alignment

I recently interviewed for a project and was selected. However, during the interview call, I clearly mentioned that I needed time to consider the opportunity as I wanted to explore other domain options that align with my aspirations. Despite this, the project was assigned to me. I subsequently communicated my decision to decline the project via email, stating that my career goals do not align with its scope.

Unfortunately, the matter was escalated to RMG and HR by the manager, and I was asked to discuss it further. During the discussions, I reiterated my position, but I am now facing pressure to accept the project, even though I have been unallocated for just one day.

I seek guidance on how to resolve this situation amicably and fairly, ensuring my career aspirations are respected while maintaining professionalism and alignment with the organization's processes.
