Removing Instagram and YouTube apps from my phone has been the best thing ever.
I retained the accounts. But the act of opening instagram on browser and getting a lot of friction in the UX is exactly how I am able to detox from the filth that Instagram has become. And mind you: I scrolled through cutesey, art, cooking and lifestyle stuff. There is a labrynth of bad brain rot content lurking below the usual: if you even happen to linger on two reels even out of judgement, the content pulls you in and it's hard to get out of the algorithms spread.
Had this been 2015, Insta was class. If you're 25+ in 2025, avoid it like the plague. Generations have had hobbies, plans and creativity without having to be influenced.
Next step: Start reading. Get my brain back to the 30+ mins attention spans.

I have deleted apps such as Insta YouTube and removed personalisation on Reddit. LinkedIn immediate unfollow anyone posting cringe shit or likening such content..I see content only that I like, so far it’s been amazing on my health. I have been able to focus on my fitness and even music I listen to only chill music for relaxation. My experience has been it’s up to us to curate our own experiences in the digital world !
Did the same 💪 a few months back.

Using web Verizon only.
Deleted linkedin too.. All sales BS things only.
Insta is about envy and faking till you make it for poor and status for rich ( else who will respect them)
Instead have a substack, and have started writing for self but got 10 subscribers now..
I did it like 3 years ago. Only use them through the PC.
