Trending @Infosys; Removed from the team
I was new to the project and I handled only 3 stories till now in the team. The first 2 stories I was able to complete in time
the last story I was not able to complete in time it was spilled over but I was able to complete it. The reason for this delay was because the story has dependency on the other story to be completed first so It took 1 to 2 days extra. And we can't run the MS locally cause it needs a lot of mocking. Me and other new members asked but we couldn't run it and I had to rely on an older team member for the testing and it took time.
And lastly you can say I lack knowledge. I got a call from the manager and he told me you are removed since you were not able to complete it one sprint.

I don't know to where your manager is sprinting with this kind of attitude, because as per the reason you have mentioned here for the delay, it looks very reasonable to me why the delay occurred. Moreover, two other tasks were done within the expected time. You yourself claim you lack knowledge here. I hope you didn't claim you have enough knowledge required for them which got you hired to that team. Right? 😸 I am smelling something fishy here.

Can you elaborate on the last line ?

There can be n reasons why you were taken out of the project. Assuming you are working in an agile project, now a days clients are insisting on having visibility towards burn down , velocity, lead time , cycle time, etc. In one of my projects, client directly provided feedback to remove 1-2 developers . Even if internally within Infosys team, we knew they were the star performers. It was very difficult for me to convince the client otherwise and we had to take another person out. These things will be purely objective data driven going forward. And as a developer I am assuming when the story points were estimated, you participated in the refinement process and gave clearly all dependencies and assumptions . Also you must have had chance to let know your burn down in the daily calls. Estimate 5, delivered 10 days, is not acceptable in any scenario without sufficient and good justification.

Its great that you got out of the project early. Could turn out to be a nightmare later. There could be certain scenarios - The upper management might have promised something very unrealistic to clients, or clients might have made a similar demand. Now everyone is just doing their jobs, but what propagates downwards is 'lack of empathy'. An environment where everyone is just trying to save their asses, it ultimately leads to a bad product.

Yeah could be .. Don't know and not interested in investigating.
Waiting for the other project call. I also got released previously and I was getting lots of call.

Take it as a lesson and think of all things you need to do to complete a story. If something is more than 5/8 points ask for splitting the story

If you have blocker you should block the story, keeping it open or in progress doesn’t make any sense
