Remote Work Consideration with Genuine Constraints
I am native of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, currently employed at a corporate firm based in Hyderabad, Telangana. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I got married and settled in Visakhapatnam, where my husband runs a business that requires his constant presence here. Given these circumstances, relocating to Hyderabad was never an option for us.
Over the past few years, I have been efficiently working from home from Visakhapatnam. I’m now a mother to a one-year-old child, and my responsibilities toward my family have grown even more significant. With companies now transitioning back to office-based work, I’m faced with a difficult decision — to either leave my family behind and relocate, which is not feasible, or quit my job altogether.
Letting go of a career I’ve built since graduation feels disheartening. It not only undermines my educational background but also dims my passion and drive to contribute meaningfully through my work. I know I’m not alone — many women across India face this same challenge. Talented, qualified women are stepping away from the workforce simply because relocating for work is not a viable option for them.
In light of this, I seek any guidance or support regarding possible alternatives — whether through permanent remote work, hybrid models, or any other flexible arrangements that can help me continue my career without compromising my responsibilities at home.

In Accenture it’s 1 day wfo you can travel
I’m working in Accenture only. I’m being underpaid here. Got an offer from Cognizant with 90% hike but hybrid model😐. Thinking how can I manage
Yes look for remote opportunities ,upskil is the key I also crack for remote but they are only matching my offer
I would say look for other remote opportunities. Or if possible like in some companies there is 2 day wfo if possible you can go for a week and complete the wfo for a complete month. This is a option in some of the companies check this out otherwise remote is the way for you.
Are there any remote opportunities these days?
