Remembering our heroes this Kargil Vijay Diwas 🇮🇳

Kargil Vijay Diwas. 25 years, man.

Sitting here, staring at my laptop, trying to give a shit about this quarter's numbers. But my mind's somewhere else today.

You know that guy in HR who's always on your case? Or that teammate who stole your idea in the last meeting? Feels like the end of the world sometimes, right?

Then I think about those soldiers in Kargil and every other frontier. Guys our age, probably dreaming about normal stuff - girlfriends, bikes, maybe a cool job. Instead, they're dodging bullets, watching their buddies fall, all for what? So we can sit here and argue over who gets the window seat in the office.

Makes our "problems" look like a joke, doesn't it?

Remember that time you lost sleep over your annual review? Those soldiers lost sleep wondering if they'd see another sunrise.

We stress about meeting targets. They had actual targets on their backs.

Not saying our issues aren't real. They are. But maybe, just maybe, we could cut each other some slack sometimes? That colleague who messed up your presentation - maybe they're dealing with shit we know nothing about.

To those brave souls who never made it back - I don't have the right words. "Thank you" feels hollow, but it's all I've got. Your sacrifice is the reason I can sit here, complain about my boss, and plan my next vacation.

To the families left behind - I can't even begin to imagine your pain. Hope you know that your loved ones' courage hasn't been forgotten.

And to those still bearing the scars, visible and invisible - you deserve way more than just one day of remembrance.

So yeah, next time I'm about to lose it over some office drama or a messed up Excel sheet, I'll try to remember this feeling. Try to be a bit kinder, a bit more patient.

Because at the end of the day, we're the lucky ones. We get to be here, doing our 9-to-5, planning our weekends. All thanks to those who put everything on the line.

Jai Hind. 🇮🇳

Love that someone posted about it somewhere at least ❤️🇮🇳 Fucking pissed that media/ brands have completely ignored this historical day for us. Look at how the West till date celebrates victories which are centuries old. And then we complain about the country and how the govt doesn't do jackshit. Khud ki patriotism no one questions.

Also dont fall for blind patriotism as you will doing a disservice to all the kargil era ypung officers and soldiers .

They were sent ill prepred , generals were covering up their mistake calling it just a bunch of jehadis , we lost many people unnecessairly in early kargil days

Praise the young soldiers officers , Question the Generals .

Such a wholesome post!!

My father's friend, who served in Kargil, often shared his war stories with me. He talked about sleepless nights, haunted by the sound of artillery and the cries of fellow soldiers coming from medical tents. He told stories of bravery, where soldiers risked their lives to save their fellow soldiers without a second thought. They reminded me of the real cost of our freedom and the importance of respecting and honouring those who protect it.

Listening to him, I realized people like us, the civilians can never truly understand what they went through. It's like a different world, man. Watching a war movie on 26th January or 15th August or shouting Jai Hind, doesn't even come close to understanding or honouring the sacrifices made by our soldiers.

I think every able-bodied person should have a taste of that life. Like, mandatory military service for a couple of years after college. I mean, look at places like Israel or South Korea - everyone serves. It's not just about the army, it's about building character, respect, and a sense of duty.

Wow, somehow did not know it was today. Didn't see it on X and news apps somehow

We need to honour our military on days like this

Damn man! I really respect the hell out of our Armed Forces but I could never express my feelings for them like you did. This salary & position matters are just so small in front of what our soldiers face day to day. It was a huge victory for us and we should express gratitude for their sacrifices. 🇮🇳❤️ Jai Hind. This post cuts deep. As founders, we often talk about "battling" in the market, "conquering" challenges, or "surviving" tough quarters. But today's reminder puts all of that into stark perspective - thank you @RevolvingBacterium!

Our struggles, while real, pale in comparison to what those brave souls faced in Kargil. They fought with their lives on the line, not just their livelihoods or egos.

It makes me reflect on the work culture we're building. Are we fostering an environment of gratitude? Are we putting our daily "crises" into perspective?

Perhaps it's time we, as business leaders, take a moment to step back and reassess. To cultivate resilience without losing empathy. To chase success without forgetting the freedoms that allow us to do so.

To all who served and continue to serve - your sacrifice underpins every success story in our nation. Thank you doesn't begin to cover it.

No Independence Day Post

I always post out a heart felt note on Independence Day for all the brave warriors who stood out for us. But today, somehow it feels wrong to post it. It feels I am putting up a farce to hide the real truth. What happened in Kolkata was ...

Cost of Freedom

While we complain and whine about all things wrong with our country, which is well within our rights to do so, we also need to acknowledge the cost others paid to get us this freedom.
