Release from unit

I've been asking for a release from the unit as I have got a new opportunity in other unit within organization. So,I have been asking for a release from my manager and the supermanager, and now they're giving me various options. That I can avail.It could be on site. It could be any kind of work as far as my aspirationsis concerned. But my question is why they have come up now. Why don't they given me these many options before? Now, since I have taken a bold step for a release so what should I do?
