Release from Project

Hey folks, I am stuck at one project from last 1 year and my growth is equals to zero there. No one giving clear information, KT for the required automation framework( how it got setup , how configuration files logged and the logic behind that ) only they told me to clone and work.

So anyone can tell me that how to take release from project.
