Rejected at the last round again

I’ve reached the last round in 6 different companies, and in some of them I went through 5 to 6 interview rounds. Most of the time, everything goes well. The interviewer seems genuinely happy with my answers, the discussion flows naturally, and I walk out feeling like I did enough. Yet, in the end, there is no offer. That’s the part that hurts the most. After investing so much time, energy, and emotional effort, you’re left without clarity on what exactly is missing. Now there are no interviews lined up, no calls to prepare for, and honestly, no clear idea of what to do next. It feels like everything was done right, yet nothing worked out. Just sitting with the silence, the uncertainty, and trying to figure out how to move forward from here.

One possible reason is if you have had too many frequent job hops in ur career.

This is rarely the reason, Nobody spends interviewing you for 4-5 rounds to reject you based on something they have known all along

Rare but possible. Stability factor counts a lot these days.

That's become a norm now. It's so frustrating as a candidate.

Company must have got Cheap options to recruit

FluffyBoba

Wrong not everyone is holding out for cheap employees. Companies are worried about making the wrong hire in the market so they're slowing down. The cheapest hire often doesn't have the skills and companies don't want to fire a resource quickly just after hiring them

We are into hiring and this is the strategy being followed. Most of the spending is being done on AI related Acquisitions.

Why is that so?

FluffyBoba

Can you explain why? A lot of companies are only hiring AI engineers at least a lot of startups from what I can see....

Have some patience. Given the current job market, this is quite normal. I myself waited nearly a year before getting a decent job.

In the same boat, at least 4-5 companies throughout 2025

Maybe they chose the cheapest candidate. Nowadays, this is what happens. If you ask for what you deserve, they reject you.

No this is a wrong statement

They were early-stage startups based in Gurugram and Bangalore.

Then may be they dont know when to stop... Just keeping their DB and call in when needed. I used to get calls from old interviews saying we have re-open the position..just one HR discussion to join in again but then you are already settle in another place and no wish to re-do same process..
