Trending @Cognizant; Reimbursement Process with Medi Assist – Need Guidance
Hey everyone, Has anyone here successfully claimed hospitalization reimbursement with Medi Assist through Cognizant? My mother was admitted to a non-network hospital on March 19, 2025, and I have already submitted the claim intimation.
I’d like to understand: 1️⃣ How long does the reimbursement process usually take? 2️⃣ What documents are mandatory for smooth approval? 3️⃣ Any specific challenges you faced and how to avoid claim rejection? 4️⃣ Does Medi Assist cover expenses like medicines, diapers and other consumables?
Would appreciate any insights from those who have been through this process! Thanks in advance.

I have claimed the medi assist reimbursement for non network brnach only

it will take around 15 to 20 days to process your claim they will say they will process but after 10,15 days you need to call the customer care of medi assist and ask them regarding claim, post that in 2,3 days money will be credited into your account

Hospital will give you 2 forms one from hospital side and one for patients other than this All medical bills, summary breakup, patients decease summary, medicine bill and all, mostly attatch all the bills paid to hospital and medical
3)medi assist will say they will cross verify with hospital and they willl mention to send the documents through post but not needed you can upload all the documents soft copy
4)yes, every medical expense is covered other than cringes, plaster and few other things
Medi assist will give you around 70% of the total amount of bill
Eg : for me bill was 24k I got around 18k

I heard there are two forms one We need to submit and other form gets filled by the Hospital, so from where we can get this forms like from Medi website ? Or we can do everything online.? means filling the form and every process?

Submit all hospital documents and bills with the hospital stamp. Don't forget to collect the discharge summary. After submission, they may request additional documents if needed. After validation, they provide a detailed breakdown of deductions. Review these deductions carefully, and if they seem too high, email them for re-evaluation. Based on my experience, they may validate again and process a refund for any unjustified deductions.

Room rent , doctor charges, nurse charges are covered 100%

All prescriptions and their bills need to be attached. Will not cover non medical expenses like diapers, masks, gloves, bandages etc etc.
It takes around 15 days from file approval to payment disbursement. If they find any query it gets delayed also.

very bad experience for me. I have raised the maternity came to be reimbursed and for the first time they approved the partial amount and after highlighting the issue for the higher amount to be approved as per the policy coverage now they have started me asking the same document again and again in every mail. it has become very torture for me to upload and send them the same document everytime. I already taken lots of follow up on multiple emails and via call but the only reply I get is as per the policy we are processing. I feel something is fishy because at the very first time this documents were not asked and now they are demanding some new documents or the old documents only.
