Regretting after leaving a remote offer and joining another company with 6l more in tc
I had a remote offer of 28.6tc(18base) from autodesk as a Data scientist(1.5yoe ft) but then I received another offer from a unicorn in blr ,3days hybrid of 34.3l +esops tc with 32.5 base . I wanted to join autodesk bcz of remote chill work and brand value, also internal team so chill work with more clarity but then my parents brainwashed me to join the unicorn bcz of more base pay(typical indian parents) Company is fine ,work is also fine but the mental harrasment of living in blr with the expenses makes it equivalent to the offer I had from autodesk Now I regret daily ,how to cope with it?

Was in a very exact scenario. The pay was similar too. I did all the calculations, salary after tax, salary after expenses everything and decided to go for remote job. But to my surprise, I joined just before the performance review cut off date and got a 10% hike which equated what the other Bangalore company had to offer just within 3 months.
Sometimes you have to trust your gut.

The red flag is you not being able to take your own decisions and asking your parents.
It’s easy to hate the choice when someone else made the choice for you.

And the end of the day I had to stay with my parents if I took the remote job ,i barely hai 1.5yoe/24y old,,i had to listen to their taanas if I stayed at home I understand that I should have taken a call but it's difficult when u have competition offers like these ,when both are good and have pros and cons each

Find a remote job and move out if you can, living in Bangalore is not worth it.
