I want to change react native app logo for android and I saw a youtube video where they use png but in my case it shows .webp images so is this new update are etc???

Webp is is just an image format which was initially designed to make websites faster.
I'm not sure how apt it would be for a native app.
Try replacing it with a png format of the same image
