Trending @Infosys; Regarding mentorship cum buddy program

I got NI rating in last cycle. I thought I will get PIP mail from HR or manager. But yesterday I got mail of 'mentorship cum buddy program' .. really got confused.. what is it? I heard that if someone get NI rating then pip or layoff is mandatory... so should I expect to recieve pip mail or not in coming days?
