I wanted to know the consequences if I refuse to take any work or deliver subpar work if the performance outcome is not as per my expectations.
Actually I want to invest my time to upskill and switch if my reward outcome is not good .

If you will refuse work then you will get less work ans then your work life will be balanced. Then you will get more time for your family ans friends. You will have to then enjoy more . You you are okay for all these then you can refuse more work

Refusing work or delivering subpar performance might lead to warnings or even termination. Upskilling is great, but balance it with current responsibilities to avoid trouble
