You should have clarified better about what do you mean by “next batch”. But I take it you are talking about the passing out batch of 2024, who would be sitting in placement drives in 2023. So I think placements will be slow in the initial 2023, but would pick up a bit in 2nd half. So if your college has placement drives lined up in 2nd half of 2023, it will be better. The overall, whole year hiring should be still less than pre-covid level, but I don’t believe there will be any major drop. There is talk of recession, but I believe towards the beginning of 2nd half of 2023, it will start dying down (unless some major bad event occurs). But anyway, all this is just guesses, always be prepared for the worst. Hope for the best, be prepared for the worst.

Things could go downward. Emphasis on could. In the meantime you should start preparing a strong profile with a good portfolio. This will help you greatly I’m getting jobs outside of campus placements.

Target startup’s unrelated to big tech they are right now on a hiring spree since all the big techs are laying off and many of them would take freshers during these times.

Play your cards right and you’ll be fine. Nothing much to worry just keep going on track and work on your skills.
