Recently, there were layoffs in my company. Fortunately, I was not affected. Should I still stay in this company?

I would advise you to start looking on the side, and start getting warmed up for interviews

Also have a chat with your manager regarding future outlook, risks you should be aware of, and the plan ahead for you to grow within the org

make sure you also have an emergency fund ready to face any future uncertainty

That's so less information.

Decide based on this.

  • how big is your company

  • is the business study?

  • is it listed or in pre-ipo stage?

  • what has caused this layoff?

  • which teams were laid off?

  • what was the criteria for layoff?

  • what has your manager briefed you about the future and about the layoffs.

  • did the company has past history of layoffs.

  • what's your compa ratio? Is it way above standards

  • what's the chances that your will get a job within 1-3 months outside.

  • have you got your emergency funds ready.

Still many more questions to be asked.

Same is my scenario as well. Every month there is 1 layoff in my company. HR threatened employee to resign if not they will be terminated. They hardly have any direct clients. Only project which is running through subvendor (not direct client). Do you think I should continue my stay here.
