Recently, there was a decision to merge two teams and this decision is taken by the client. We as a team, were not interested in this merge.

Recently, there was a decision to merge two teams and this decision is taken by the client. We as a team, were not interested in this merge and spoke our concerns with our manager and the lead form the other team which is merging with us. But the lead went by the book saying "since tcs gave us a project and asked us to deliver, we are delivering it and for change of project, one should complete there 24 months from the day the employee started working in a project".

I came into this project into a certain team do some work, then due to this merging process, I have to do the other teams work as well which I'm not interested in doing so. As I have also spoke with my manager regarding it in a one on one call informing my concerns and field of interest. She said she has openings for it.

Now my question is, is there a possibility that I can pursue in my field of interest. Is not can I get a release as I joined the project on April 2023.

Note: current work is application support and field of interest is automation testing.
