Trending @Accenture; Reality of life at Accenture
I've been wanting to share some thoughts about my experience here at Accenture, I’ve had 2 different jobs in the past and I thought it's best to have a candid conversation about it.
Honestly, my time at Accenture has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, and not in a good way. Let me break down the major issues I've faced:
Work-Life Balance: It's practically non-existent. If you're at Accenture, personal life seems like a distant memory. It's all about being chained to your laptop, whether it's in the office or working from home. Saying no to a task isn't really an option. If you do, you're slapped with negative feedback, and there goes your appraisal and job security.
Mental Pressure: This place can really take a toll on your mental and physical health. Physical illnesses can be cured, but mental stress is a whole different beast.
Internal Politics: It's everywhere, but at Accenture, it's practically an art. Sharing your perspective or trying to solve a problem differently? Well, brace yourself for negative feedback. This can affect your promotion, appraisal, or even your job. Being a "YES SIR" person seems to be the only way to survive here.
Career Growth: What a joke. No matter how many skills you gain or certifications you earn, career growth here is an illusion. I tried switching technologies, put in extra effort, and still, all I got was a negative performance review that led to my resignation.
Miscellaneous: Those initial perks they offer? Don't be fooled. There's no job security after a year or two. You could be shown the door anytime, regardless of your performance, all based on your relationship with your manager. They always seem to have one excuse: 'performance issue.'
Planning to quit soon.
I would say it totally depends on Project no matter what service based company you go to.
I also switched to Accenture and if I compare my prev org..Acc is providing me better work life bal. Is it ideal..def not..proj expects me expected to login at 12 30pm and close at 10 30pm which also extends most of the times. But I have not worked on any weekends apart drom upskilling.
Politics is def something here...you shud be ' YES' machine all the time.
Also, I taked to some folks who joined Acc and all our conv had one thing common about hikes.
The first hike all got was <5 per. Reason was the same .i.e. Company cant afford taking risks as employee has completed only 6 months yet. Which in my sense is stupid.
Carrer growth : Well I would say I learnt multiple integration tools, new product. I am happy with that learning curve. Not to mention Acc leads and is Salesforce Practice among its competitors acc to me.

I believe you hit the nail in the coffin with your first line here - "it totally depends on the Project, no matter what service based company you go to".
Internal Politics is definitely an issue and is causing me Mental Issues as well. Nobody seems to be bothered about it.

it all depends on your project.
