Trending @Capgemini; Reality check
I'm a woman working in cg from past 1.7years. I have given all my hard work to this company. Have even worked on weekends and going to the office every day. When I said that I can't work on weekends anymore due to certain reasons( the reason being Im having low to no connectivity in the area I stay in, hence I have to come office 5 days on weekdays and they are asking me to do the same for weekends as well, that can't be done because last Sunday I was the only person in office, what about my safety, although nothing will happen in the office, but still, why they want extra from me)my project manager sent a mail keeping my reporting manager in cc and asked why I can't work on weekends. My manager called me for a short discussion, and while discussing the work I have done till now he was continuously asking me for any other alternative so that I can work on weekends. I asked for double compensation for weekends. He gave a very lame reply saying this is another thing. I mean howwww how is this another thing.???? I have been working day night for this project and they didn't even consider me for a hike. when asked about the hike,he said the next hike cycle is in September. Why would I wait till that time? Now after discussing this, they are targeting me only. They are not asking other team members to follow the roaster. The work is not at all equally divided among all of us.People are there who doesn't have work even on weekdays. They load me with works on weekdays and also asks me to work on weekends.Im really fed up of this shitty company.Wanna move out asap.

Work for 8-9 and hours and nothing more. Give proper handover and details in case you are working in shifts. After that don't respond to office calls. If you are working continuously for 5 days and your manager is asking you to work for additional days. Just ask him to compose and send it to you in the mail. And then referring to that email write in pulse survey and take it to n+2 and HR.
By the way which BU And location ?

Its strange manager asked on mail for weekends, keep records of everything your work their misbehave and their demand for weekend work and post that to your BU directors and head HRs of Capgemini if you want to fight otherwise leave the organisation silently

Everyone has to work on weekends at one point or the other depending on the demand of your project. Please highlight this to your manager and request for alternate weekend offs if not all weekends

Are you in CG engineering BU ?

Yes

I have worked on multiple projects while I was in this BU. faced the same situation. I was overloaded with work compare to other team members and I was the only female in the project. No transparency while sharing project policies and info. Take less number of resources compared to required in projects. I shared my concerns to other colleagues who are in different BU, realised that they are getting proper compensation for weekends and overtime if eligible. Project/client policies are transparent. Only requires to visit office 12 days a months. No micromanagement. So simply I changed my BU. Things are better now.

Raise issue in SPEAK UP.

Manager asking why u can't work on weekends? Are they really asking that?? What kind of bullsh*t... Are you being hired for 24x7 support? Make sure you have your working data with you over email and try getting released from project. Or try moving out.. for your own good..

Will try for other opportunities only option left
I can't leave the project until they kick me out

Once a while it is OK to work on weekend but if it has become normal practice , you can talk to ur practice HR.

Who is the ret@rd who sent email asking for an explanation?
Why tf should anyone give an explanation or justification to not work on weekends?
Report that inconsiderate b@st@rd to all the heads including his n+1 and n+2
How tf can they expect you to work 7 days a week?
This is inhumane and textbook definition of harassment
I work in CG too and had a bad experience with my project director (nowhere close to your situation) and I quit because of that person.
Whether you choose to stay or leave CG don't let this go unreported. This id10t needs to be called out in front of everyone (at least his seniors so they know how he got to that position)
