Realistic retirement age in Corporate India?
I have been hearing that the sort of new retirement age is around 42 years ? Is it true or more like fear mongering?
And if it is, is this applicable more for tech roles or across most roles ?
Previously I used to hear that 45 to 50 is the sort of unofficial retirement age.
Could it get even worse giving the rising working class population in india and boost in productivity due to AI reducing the number of people working in middle to senior management cause I assume that most people in that age bracket work at these positions.
Hearing this is a little scary, dunno if FIRE is achievable for me before i reach that age.

If it is service based companies, you can work till you take VRS. For product based companies, multiple things come into picture ..mainly company revenue, re-structuring.

VRS exists in SBCs 😂?
I thought that exists only in govt jobs? Aren't things now in SBCs getting tighter as well like TCS layoffs this year
