I feel that the real reason behind the Low Pay and Irregular Appraisals at Infosys is that, those who are in production (means you are drawing your own salary as you are on a Project) then congratulations 🎉 you are the one who is specially contributing the salary of the people on the bench. Infy has a huge workforce on the bench and those who are in the project are the ones bearing the burnt. It is like few people are earning and paying taxes for the County’s infrastructure and the maintenance of the marginalized.

Real reason for low pay and low bonus is low margin. Like it or not we are in cut throat competition for a commoditized service where we’re are unable to charge premium. You may think we are charging client high and paying employees low but there are other costs also involved. Yea bench is one cost. But service companies need to have bench for growth else they will never get new projects as they can’t go scouting for talent when they get project. Clients have become smarter they are putting one vendor against analyzer having multiple vendors in same project so that costs don’t go ver high. Large accounts in infy work on wafer thin margins as they drive revenues. One major factor driving margins even lower is high pay of VP and above staff at infosys and the % cut the sales folks get. That is very distorted. There are defintely are projects and technologies were go FP model and get higher margins. Those units in infosys give better hikes and promotion . CIS NGE is one such unit

Also, low pay is given so as to make it easy to maintain employees when they are on the bench. Some low paying employees are on the bench for even 2 years. They just keep cribbing about it rather they should be thankful that they are getting paid for nothing. No company likes people on the bench and they try hard to deploy them on projects asap. If you are on the bench and unhappy, resign and move don't keep cribbing.

Real reason is to make sure the infosys directors and their friends get 90cr CTC package and two paid foreign vacations every year for their entire family... This is the real reason....
