Reading between the lines of Recruiter
Suppose you’ve been screened by recruiter & manager and all looks good to them. But now recruiter starts avoiding msg/calls for a week and comes back with “We’ll connect in few days as we are in process of interviewing more candidates” Why can’t the next round be scheduled when this is happening? Is it the other candidates in process are more preferred/cheaper/just in final stages of their interview? Should I as a candidate even prioritise a company whose recruiter deals like this? I want to understand whether this is a genuine scenario or they’re anyway not going to interview but want to keep backup for worst case ?
Have you faced this? What did you do?

Yup, you've to look for yourself, keep interviewing until you get the offer letter. Until you have the offer, no verbal commitment matters. I had a company finalize package, joining date, took my address etc to send laptop. They said they'll send laptop, start working from tomorrow, and didn't even send offer lol. Just ignored them and kept giving interviews and landed an offer. They didn't even call me after that last call.

Damn this is massive red flag. Can’t imagine how it would’ve hit you. Anyway, looks like you’re in better place now.
