Trending @Capgemini; Rating got downgraded from Exceptional to Exceeding😕

Had a call today with my N+1 and he informed me that although he had given me Exceptional rating, the HR downgraded it to Exceeding due to BTO non-compliance.

Was kinda expecting it but still feeling sad that a complete random person, who is not even aware about my project work, has the final say on my whole years work

I have have taken bto exemption with genuine reason for 2-3 months ( which was approved) last year will that affect the YER rating

I dont think so

If your exemption was captured in the BTO tool then no

The thing that kinda hurts me over here is that me and my teammate, who has hardly done any real work over the last one year but was BTO compliant, have received the same ratings 😶

My manager told me that HR does not care about your work or skills set, they just want BTO compliance and Learning hours.

That's why my rating is downgraded from exceeding to succeeding.

Only 8 months of 2025, 12 days was complete.

Faltu process literally…

You can bust your ass on a project, deliver solid work — but come appraisal time, they slap you with the most idiotic buckets like “BTO compliance” and other meaningless nonsense.

HR jumps in with zero clue about your actual contributions, downgrades you anyway, and calls it a day.

They deserve a solid thrashing for this garbage system that rewards checkbox BS over real effort and impact.

Time to escape this circus. 🚪💨

What did your BTO look like this year? Was it less than 12 days a month or were your office hours too low? Any insight is appreciated.

My office hours are more than 9 hours/day.So that's never an issue for me. It was basically due to my BTO attendance. Our BU had set a threshold of 75% BTO compliance this year it seems and mine was falling short by few %. So in the final round of discussion with the HR my name was dropped from the Exceptional list to exceeding list (as they have a fixed quota for each ratings it seems)
