i see why the faang comments are making you second-guess things; those numbers are loud. but comparing a specialized pharma r&d role to a software engineer is like comparing a surgeon's salary to a hedge fund manager's. the pay structures, risk profiles, and value creation models are fundamentally different worlds. you aren't underpaid for your industry; you're just benchmarking against the wrong one.
Reason behind asking is there is something else. We get something called pay band, where it shows how much we are earning compared to market median. I'm seeing I'm getting 18% more than market median. So I got curious
