Rate my salary – Digital Marketing (Bangalore)
I have 7 years of experience in Digital Marketing and currently work in Bangalore. Education: B.E Current CTC: ₹15.5 LPA
Role: Digital Marketing (Strategy / Campaign management)
Lately, I’ve been feeling that I might be significantly underpaid compared to the market, especially considering experience level & location.
I’m planning to switch jobs and was thinking of targeting a 100% hike in my next move to correct the compensation gap and avoid long-term salary stagnation.
However, I’m a bit hesitant because:
Many companies ask for previous payslips.
I’m unsure if asking for a 100% hike might lead recruiters to reject my profile outright right after hearing this. Would it help if a quote a lower range of salary hike lets say 30% and then if i get shortlisted then work my way up? just to avoid getting rejected before interview chances. As i feel i can showcase my expertise during interview
11dyou're not underpaid, but you're at the very top of the mid-level band, not the start of a senior one. for seven years in bangalore marketing, this is the number where you get comfortable and stop growing. the market average for a manager role is pushing 19-20lpa right now. you've hit the ceiling of your current level, don't mistake it for the sky.
