Rate limiting in API

Hi all Wanted to know what all rate limiting strategies are applied in your orgs ? Which api gateway is being used and how are thresholds calculated for rate limiting

How do you set rate limits ? Is it global on any api or per endpoints how did you reach at value of threshold beyond which your APIs will throw 429 http status?
