[Rant] How do you get interviews in big companies like FAANG, PhonePe, Rippling, Atlassian, etc?
I have seen some companies post about them looking to hire a lot of people and ask people to reach out to them over DM (if their DM is even open in the first place lol), but when I do, I never hear anything back. I have 4 yoe and have applied to so many of these companies, reached out to people working there, but no one has ever replied back. Why do they even say that their DMs are open in the first place? I don't know how to even get my resume in front of an actual person working there, and my resume is not even that bad. Like how do people get interviews in these companies in the first place? I have applied so many times but never actually got contacted by any HR. Any tips will be much appreciated.

looks like you are not from tier 1 college, right?

@MissWorld I am from a top 10 private college, not sure if that's tier 1 or tier 2

go do a Google search n find out or share your college name

Getting interviews at FAANG india is not hard at all. Especially Amazon would literally interview anyone who knows basic coding and is alive. Have blocked multiple of their recruiters.
Try reaching out to folks working in these companies on LinkedIn.

@Kafkaa Hey, thanks for your reply. My experience has been very different tbh as only one FAANG recruiter reached out to me till now. I reached out to so many people in FAANG, Uber, Atlassian, etc but never really got any reply back. Maybe I just have to keep trying.

Improve your resume and LinkedIn. Also, maybe switch to a mid-tier company first and then try for the top companies.

@Razer, how is Airbus? Why are you switching?

@Elderflower Hey, Airbus is really good if you want to coast along. The people here are very nice but everything feels very slow especially the decision making. Plus the comp is not that great and there are other things like 3 months notice, etc so wanted to switch.

OP, is the notice period at Airbus negotiable? An ex-colleague is thinking to interview But 3 months notice might be too much if joined and wanting to leave in some years?

@HangTheDJ Hey, officially in our HR policy it does mention that there is a provision for buyout but that is subject your to manager and HOD approval. Plus, they give 5 lakhs as joining bonus and you will have to return it if you leave before 3 years ๐ฅฒ

Alright got it Plus, if youโre nearing your notice Feel free to ping me for a referral at CRED.

Hey, even I'm looking to switch and want to be in the companies that you have listed. I'm not reaching out to anyone there right now as I don't think I'm prepared for their DSA and system design rounds. Let me know how are you planning to prep.

What resources are you using for DSA?

Getting interviews at FAANG level companies is actually quite straight forward. Last year I was looking for a job change and I directly went to their job portals and applied. I got calls from Google, Microsoft and Amazon. No referrals, nothing. It also depends on the role that they are hiring for and number of open positions for the role. All the best out there man ๐

Recruiter reached out generally in my case got interviewed for Amazon, phonepe, flipkart etc (got rejected ๐ฅฒ)
