[Rant]-

Apologies for the rant post. Wfh in Bangalore is the need of the hour, The traffic is getting worse day by day, the amount of dust in the air due to construction everywhere is alarming, I am pretty sure a number of people are suffering from eye allergies already including me. Mildest rain causes water clogging in main areas. Travelling time to the office for most of us is a minimum of 4hrs to and fro. How do we convey the struggles of mental peace and physical health every employee is going through on a daily basis to our lords above. Working remotely is possible then why force employees to come. Why can't hybrid be implemented. They say a lot about the environment and work life balance, green gas emissions. lot of webinars but no real policies that can make our life better.

True .. only other options are to either move to a different city or country IMO. Moving closer to the offices are not economical if you are not paid well

Moving to new city is not the solution because now or then we will face same situation there as well. I believe Remote is the new workplace.

TCS is not going to allow wfh Unless you have some medical issues that doesn't allow you to travel
Even that goes thru many layers of approval. They quote these issues as personal issues

I have seen some similar cases in our project as well. I too worked from a tier 2 city and asked for a transfer to tier 1 city where the project was based out of. IMO, moving may not be the best option but if done with proper financial and logistic planning can prove to be beneficial in the long run. Moving to the tier 1 cities will definitely improve your chances to get better opportunities. Afterall we all want to get out of this hell hole called TCS. So just think from this perspective as well. You might find a solution to your problem albeit with a good amount of change in your life.
