Rant - Unfair Life

Hey, so it's been two years since I graduated, right? And guess what? My old flatmates, the ones we used to live with, are all job hunting now. And get this, we even managed to score interviews at these big-shot FAANG companies.

Here's the kicker, though. They used GPT during the interviews, and they totally nailed it. I had no idea they were doing that until they showed me their offer letters and bragged about "how little they studied and how much they achieved".

Dude, I was shaken. Like, I couldn't believe it. I studied hard for the interviews but was not able to make it. I started having these crazy thoughts, like "Maybe I should have cheated too." I know it's messed up to think that way, and I'm genuinely happy for them, but man, life can be so unfair sometimes.

I don't think I have anyone to share this with. Also I don't want to sound mean by sharing this to our other friends. So here you go grapevine.

Ask yourself will you be able to sleep peacefully if you would have cheated?

It's very easy to detect people who made their way through cheating and who didn't, earn respect.

Cheaters r always scared of being exposed, the confidence, tone, knowledge speak itself.. while people who genuinely got placed aren't afraid even if they don't know something, they learn.

Think about long terms. Will you constantly cheat even if you are 30? 40?

I totally feel you the difference in CTC is frustrating, but trust me it's all gonna be fine🫂

This is just cope. I cheated in my current job and I’m doing great. Interview difficulty has nothing to do with the actual job anyway

You did well. You didn't cheat. That's what you need in life for your growth. You cheat once, and it sticks with you for your entire life.
It's ok if you didn't crack the interview in FAANG. Go slow. You'll be there when you are supposed to. Bigger companies have more layoffs.
Just be honest to yourself, and everything else will just fall in place. And it's not unfair. Cheers! 🥂

Yeah but when I see a base of 5x my CTC I rethink my life choices

Should have cheated then bruh. Life ain't fair, use whatever you can to get ahead.

I didn’t know at that time that they would be doing this. Also, I am afraid of being blacklisted.

Making 78L at 32, but I feel like an imposter. Is this normal? (Self-reflection + seeking advice)

I think I'm losing my mind. I'm a 32-year-old guy in tech, graduated from IIIT Delhi, earning 78L annually, but I feel like I'm fooling everyone, including myself. It's as if I'm constantly waiting for someone to burst into the office an...

I'm so lost in life right now.

Sorry if it feels like a vent but better be this than nothing else. This has been a slow year for me, I look everywhere and people are doing better than me. Being a fresher who had his offer revoked was already a hard blow but I somehow ...
