Rains and WFO
Bangalore Rains have been merciless, most of the areas are flooded, why can't we have an exception for wfh. location HRs could just send out an email and make everyone's life easy. Why don't they ever do it. Just asking😔

If u ask HR, they'll tell speek with supervisor and discuss on wfh. If u ask supervisor, they'll tell they haven't get such info on wfh. Even everything can be handled through remotely they r not allowing WFH for these weather conditions 😕

It completely depends on manager as individuals. They have authority to approve upto 5 days of exception without consulting HR . But problem is very few manager proactively take steps for the team members.
Reason - some team members misuse wfh and don't do work. And these few are creating problems for everyone else ...

💯

I hear you, the rains are a nightmare. HR might be waiting for higher-ups to decide, but fingers crossed for some flexibility soon

I don't have any hopes for these people seriously, most of the blore is flooded, traffic is at the worst I have started from ofc @5:30 and I'm not even half way home. Companies talk a lot about wellbeing then y not voluntarily ask employees to wfh until things settle down. I am sorry I am just too tired hence the rant.

By the time the cyclone will go off automatically.. haha

Some of my team members are working at TCS, Kolkata office and they got WFH exception due to bad weather conditions so I believe you may raise an exception.

They wont…. Ever!! Drop a leave and enjoy..

No need of waiting for any one. 5 to 6 days you can request for wfh exception just with your supervisor approval. Few days no show in a quarter won't affect your quarterly variables. With all these you should be able to manage minimum 10 days including weekends for a month where weather is extreme. Just be smart and sync up with your manager and manage the work life balance than waiting for HR to come back with a policy change or approval for all to wfh (which may not happen).

Here none is accountable with any serious matter! Even if you remember in lockdown period they never mentioned specific duration of wfh! .. Pathetic management

Even though any of my team members is not in Bangalore, how come my work efficiency will improve if I just come to office? Just wanna know Because, most of the time I'll roam outside of ODC.
