Trending @Cognizant; Question regarding BGV

One of my friend has got a offer from a service based company and he is worried that he has a property dispute with his brother(family dispute) and filed civil case and its on going, will that impact his onboarding and BGV?? He seems so worried .. as its not a criminal case will that be normal
